International Women's Day
International Women’s Day was first celebrated in 1911 then the preoccupation was the vote for women, the right to work, to hold public office and to end discrimination. Over a hundred years later how far have we come? Not so far as we would like to think. In certain countries things have even got worse. Afghanistan in the late 70’s was booming and Kabul a market place for the whole of the east a vibrant and vital city.
