Key responsibilities of the accountant job will include:
- Responsibility for preparation of the management accounts
- Management of the month end process
- Supervision of all accounting processes (Gross profit reconciliations, monthly accruals and prepayments, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, Fixed Assets and journals)
- Lead the company's financial accounting, reporting and control activities to ensure they are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice.
- Operate a financial control framework, including reporting responsibilities, financial accountabilities and authorities to ensure full financial control
- Ensure full day-to-day reporting responsibilities are undertaken
- Preparation of budgets, forecasts, cash flow and financial information
- Day to day management of the sales ledger and purchase ledger

As one of the UK's fastest growing independent fashion and gift retailers, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Officer to join JOY's expanding team. This role will provide new challenges as the brand is undergoing exciting changes across both retail and its rapidly expanding wholesale business.
We are seeking to appoint a Payroll Officer on a full time permanent basis.
You have previous payroll and bookkeeping experience and ideally be familiar with SAGE payroll. Although full training will be given.
This organisation is a retailer with 22 stores nationwide and you will be responsible for all aspects of payroll.
Main duties to include;
- To be first point of contact for all payroll related queries
- Inputting all time sheet information
- Liaising with stores
- Record and investigate any anomalies
- Process new starters and leavers
- Process all SSP, SMP and SPP payments
- Approving BACS payments
- Maintaining filing systems
- Liaising with the accounts department and advising on tax and NI amounts due to HMRC

Accounts Assistant
Job role/responsibilities:
The main part of the job will be to take over the handling of the Purchase Ledger. Tasks will include:
- Posting the invoices to the ledger
- Reviewing Utility bills
- Timely payment of all utility bills, including water. Phone etc
- Liaise internally and with energy supplier to resolve account queries
- Ensuring all suppliers' accounts are settled within our terms
- Dealing with suppliers' queries
There will also be times when assistance is needed during busy times. Tasks may include: - Matching suppliers' delivery notes to invoices
- Agreeing the price charged to our company purchase order
- You may be required to take on other accounting duties such as dealing with employees' reclaims and reconciling bank statements.
- To deal with daily transactions for the petty cash and ensure that reconciliations are completed on a weekly basis
- To ensure all filing is done in a timely and accurate manner.
- Processes payments and documents such as invoices, journal vouchers, employee reimbursements and statements.
- Files and/or removes records and reports.
- Reviewing utility bills.
- Operates standard office equipment.
- Performing related work as assigned.

Senior Marketing Executive
JOY currently has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Executive. We are looking for employees who have the personality to match our brand. We want fashion forward, vivacious candidates who possess a can-do attitude and a great sense of humour to join our close-knit team.
Job roles/responsibilities:
- Creating a comprehensive marketing strategy for the brand; including identifying key opportunities and coming up with new promotions, competitions and events to roll out across our 21 stores.
- Liaising with store managers and supporting stores in carrying out promotional events and evenings; making sure communication with stores is high and they have all the materials they need.
- Working closely with our Press and PR officer to get advertorial space in relevant publications.

Press and PR Intern
JOY is currently recruiting a Press and PR Intern to work in our ever-expanding inhouse press office. The role will report to the Press Officer, supporting them across project-based work alongside managing the day-to-day running of press liaisons and all sample requests.

The Role
To pick and pack product, whilst ensuring highest levels of accuracy are achieved. To unload containers and put away product. You will be working as part of a team, striving for excellence and the continual improvement of daily processes.
Main Duties
- Picking of product to fulfil daily orders
- Replenish picking aisles
- Unloading containers
- Checking outbound deliveries to ensure accurate picking and packing
- Re-packing product
- Processing returned orders back to stock
- Covering administrative duties where applicable
The Person
You will need to have previous experience in a similar role and be passionate about customer service. You will need to be comfortable with distribution software systems and have a high level of attention to detail with strong English communication skills including reading and writing.
The Role
As our Night/Day Delivery Van Driver, you will be the face of our company collecting and delivering stock to our branches throughout the night.
This job will be shared so part of your time will be spent in the warehouse. You will need excellent organizational skills to plan your workload. You will work a minimum of 32 hours per week to meet operational requirements. Dependant on location start times may vary.
Main Duties
- Complete vehicle checks on a daily basis
- Complete deliveries and collections of packages
- Prioritise workload to ensure time commitments are met
- Expected to comply with JOY policies and procedures
- Accurate recording of working and driving hours to comply with road transport regulations

The Person
With a minimum of 5 years driving experience, you must have a full UK, clean driving license and be smart and presentable.
JOY is looking for a designer with at least 4 years experience for their in-house Louche design team, working on their womenswear multi-category own brand. This is a design role working alongside two assistant designers in a close-knit team, which also includes interacting with the buying, marketing/ PR departments, visual merchandisers and web team.
The role is based at our Head Office in Kennington. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
We are looking for the following:
- Advanced hand illustration skills are essential
- Previous experience travelling abroad for development trips is essential along with experience liaising with manufacturers in the Far East and UK
- CAD skills required to draw up garments in adobe illustrator are preferred

JOY is looking for an intern to assist the Louche London design team on their in-house womenswear mulit-category brand. The successful applicant will be working in a close-knit team – where interacting with the buying, marketing/ PR departments, visual merchandisers and web team will give a well-rounded experience of how a dynamic fashion business is operated.
The role is based in our lovely new office in Vauxhall/Lambeth North and is a full time position for 6 or 12 months – looking to start asap.
A lunch allowance of £5 per day and travel within zones 1-3 will be covered.

Joy is currently looking for a Womenswear Design Assistant to work in our head office on the in house Louche range. The successful applicant will be working in a close-knit team whilst interacting with design, buying and marketing/ PR teams.
We are looking for an enthusiastic designer with a degree in Fashion Design and preferably 1-2 years experience in the industry. A good design eye, sense of colour, style and new trends is key. Advanced illustrator and Photoshop skills are essential. The successful candidate will need to be bubbling over with new design ideas!
Skills required:

Your responsibilities will be:

“A leading multi-store fashion retailer is looking for a Web Developer to help lead a new site launch based on Magento. Core skill set required- they will be working with a team of 2-3 people to help with the design of the site and would ideally take a 'hands on' approach with development.
