With all the disgusting goings on in the economy at the moment when I came across this on the web I thought it shone a little ray of hope to any uni leavers struggling to get going on the career ladder and succumbing to tedious summer jobs. It is always great to know that some of the fashion industries finest such as Jason Wu, used to wait tables at a BBQ restaurant and Betsy Johnson used to be a life guard before hitting the big time. However, some had a bit more of a leisurely time like Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte whom used to berry pick- not quite the hard graft as the others but I am sure they are making up for it now! Paris-based artist Cedric Rivrain has been drawing since the age of 18 and has illustrated and designed for prestigious fashion houses including John Galliano, Martine Sitbon and close friend Yazbukey.
His fan base stretches all over the globe but my love for his work stems back to a double page spread in Dazed&Confused where I first saw his illustrations of Yaz Bukey's jewellery collection.
I have no grounds to judge artist technique due to my inability to draw a straight line however, anybody can judge an emotional aesthetic that an image compels towards you. Here, the ghostly nature of the images instantly draws your eyes to theirs,
